New systems at CCL
In the last month we have launched a new IT system for the Caroline Chisholm Library. This system manages all of our cataloguing, circulation and membership functions.
The new system includes a new online catalogue. At tab at the top of this website you can search the catalogue, and see a carousel of some of our recent acquisitions.
The new system also provides personalised services to members. If you log in to your library account, you can:
- Check what books you have out
- Renew overdue books (if they're not reserved for someone else)
- Check your borrowing history - everything you've checked out in the last few years.
If you don’t have login details for the catalogue, contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org to be set up.
The new catalogue system is based on the Koha open source library system. This software was originally developed in New Zealand, and has been developed by a group of volunteers, so it fits the ethos of the Library very well. The service is maintained for us by Calyx, a Sydney IT company.
This is an opportune time to thank John Daly for his years of effort in building and maintaining the old system, and to thank Bob and Irma Burchall of Calyx for their support in the transition to the new.
